Why This Works
I’ve been recording my own songs for nearly 30 years. I started with a cassette deck on my dad’s boombox and, over the years, recorded songwriters and bands (both famous and not-so-famous) in home studios, large Nashville studios, and on the road in a mobile recording truck.
Along the way, I was always using different gear in different situations — some great for recording, some not so great. What I learned is that the gear itself doesn’t matter nearly as much as having a solid plan and understanding the fundamentals of recording.
